Dear Lucia & Francesco, our 7 nights in your beatifull apartment in Sant’Agata sui due Golfi have sped past. You made us welcome with treats like your homemade limoncello & cakes.
From Magnolia House as a well-placed base, we have driven to Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, Sorrento
Signor Francesco D.

We had a wonderful holiday in this absolutely beautiful apartment. We felt like we were living in someone’s own home. Everything was spotless, a wonderful family sized kitchen and a great outdoor area and garden. We much appreciated the way Lucia and her family looked after us.

Ottima location, propietari gentilissimi.

We loved our stay at Magnolia house during the Easter holidays 2010. The apartment was comfortable (and nicely equipped). The location is great (it is easy to get to Sorrento, Amalfi Coast, Pompeii and Naplesfrom there). Most of all we felt warmly welcomed by the owners Francesco and Lucia. They made us feel like guests into their home, not just hotel guests. They helped us sort out some site seeing trips and any other issues. We had our two children with us and they loved playing with the dog and cat!

Grazie mile lucia i Francesco. Arrivederci!”

Magnolia House is an extremely well equipped property and the kitchen was particularly impressive. It is beautifully furnished, cool and shady apartment in the house of a very friendly family, with a partially covered sunbathing and barbecuing patio. Sant’Agata’s altitude made it pleasantly cool in the evenings, when there were off-sea breezes. The vehicle access to the property is between stone walls, which made it a bit tricky for a large car such as ours, and the local roads are quite narrow. However, there is a frequent bus service to Sorrento, and the Circumvesuviana railway provides an excellent way to visit Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius. There is also a local bus to Marina del Cantone, the nearest seaside resort, where you can swim or take local boat trips.”
Mike G., Royaume-Uni

Heike P., Allemagne

Freundliche, saubere, gut ausgestattete, angenehme Unterkunft.
Albert G., Allemagne

The house was the best of our hollidays (7 houses on 3 weeks). The house is perfectly clean, the decoration is very nice (blue as the sky and the sea), everything was functional and the owners were warm and attentive with us (homemade cake, Limoncello, tomatoes and basil), and we had a private parking place what is really useful there. The situation was very good to go everywhere around (Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Capri, Napoli, Pompei… it was just fantastic. Thank you Lucy! We will return to your place, for sure!

Perfetto! Accueil tres chaleureux Appartement impeccable.

Warm reception by excellent hosts, Lucia and Francesco. Nothing too much trouble and they provided us with assistance above and beyond the norm. Excellent location near Sorrento and St Agata town centre, also at the gateway to the incomparable Amalfi coast

We had a fantastic holiday at Magnolia House. Lucia and Francesco were fabulous hosts and we hope to return next year. We found everything we needed in the house and it was the perfect location to explore the Bay of Naples.

The Magnolia House was a wonderful retreat during our 3 week European Vacation. We spent our last 5 days of vacation here. It was very clean, spacious, and wonderfully decorated. Lucia was very helpful with any questions I had. This was a great location to explore surrounding areas from. It was easy to drive up the Amalfi Coast and visit Sorrento and Pompeii. I would recommend this place to anyone in the future.

Staying at Magnolia House was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Lucia is a gracious hostess, and the apartment is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We took many wonderful meals out on the beautiful patio. We highly recommend taking a hike to Crapolla. Ask Lucia or go to the tourist information office in Sant Agata.
Ben, New York, USA

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The apartment is very roomy and the terrace is beautiful. I would have enjoyed just sitting on the terrace and reading all day, but there was so much to see in the area. The location is close to the bus stop and town center. Sant’ Agata is a lovely community. We rode the bus to Positano and Amalfi one day – a very unique experience on the narrow roads and absolutely gorgeous vistas. Lucia is a wonderful hostess. The apartment was spotless and very well equipped. You won’t regret staying here!

Magnolia House is a jewel. It is conveniently located a short walking distance from the center of Sant’Agata’s main street (access to shops and bus stop), and it is beautiful. The idyllic Italian vegetable garden welcomes you once inside the property and lines the way to your peaceful, spacious patio just outside the apartment’s kitchen. The rooms are immaculate, beautifully and lovingly decorated and the place provides a comfortable, warm feeling for guests. We used Magnolia House as a home base for a week of exploring Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. Once we got the hang of the bus system, we found it was very efficient and easy to use. We loved Stuzzichino’s restaurant and had fun buying shoes from Raffaello in Sant’Agata. The people of Sant’Agata are friendly to tourists, and our hosts, Lucia and Francesco, were most gracious and helpful. If Sant’Agata weren’t so far from California, we’d go there more often! Be sure to take the walk from Magnolia House up to the monastery at Il Deserto for some great views and an invigorating stroll. You can reward yourself with a glass of wine and a tasty dish at Stuzzichino’s on the way back. Don Alfonso 1890 in Sant’Agata offers a world class (and very expensive) haute cuisine dining experience but if you have a special occasion or just love truly fiine dining, it’s worth it. Livia, the chef’s wife will personally greet you and invite you to tour the wine cellar and the other buildings that make up the estate.

Mama Mia! Have always dreamed of finding a Italian village and becoming a “local residents.” Sant’ Agata and the Magnolia House completed our dream vacation, Owners Lucia and Francesco treated us like visiting family. The bottle of local wine, two glasses and fresh pasteries greeted upon check-in. The house is a very comfortable two bedroom. Sleeps 4, and a 5th on a pull out sofa. Fully equipped kitchen, English channel TV, secure private parking. Take your laptop to stay in touch with home via the Wi-Fi connection. You live outdoors using the front and rear patios. Took many meals on the patios, plus down town reading a book. Lovely yard with flower gardens aglore. Easy walk to the grocery store, bakery, shops and resturants. Bus stop is nearby for those without a car. Drive to Sorrento, Positana and beautiful Amalfi coast road only 10-15 minutes. Exploring Massa Lubrense (municipality west of Sorrento) makes for fun day trips. The views of Isle Capri, Gulfs of Naples and Salerno are beautiful. Beach access at nearby Marina Catone. Hike to the abandon church high atop village of Termni. So much to do, so little time. Best part of our stay was the interaction with Lucia’s family; husband Franceso, daughter Annalisa, son’s Roberto (lives in Naples), Carlos and daughter-in-law, Elano. Lucia invited us to have dinner with the family. The property abounds with lemon trees. Asked if she made limonchello. Answer was Yes!.. after dinner. Went out in the yard and picked 14 lemons. Proceeded to peel the lemon rin zest. Lucia shared her recipe for lemoncello. Enjoyed the finished product 2 days later. Recommended resturants… Ristorante Lo Stuzzichnino across from the dummo and Ristorante Da Cardillo, just a block from Magnolia House. Go and meet the locals at the bakery at 8:30 PM awaiting for fresh baked break, 2 loafs for 1 EU. Almost forgot the family small white dog, named Nuvolo. Ask Francesco to show you how the dog dances on it’s hind legs. In closing the property location description was accurate. Listing pictures represent the unit. Property is very well maintained with pride. Have and will continue to recommend The Magnolia House to family and friends.

Our five-day stay at Magnolia House was the most memorable stop of our recent one-month vacation in Italy. The quiet and charming village of Saint Agate is an ideal location from which to explore the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento areas. The house is beautifully appointed with a fabulous kitchen and spacious garden patio. We were most impressed by generous hospitality of of our hosts, Lucia and Francesco – who provided assistance with transportation and a beautiful meal on our arrival. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable but always respected our privacy. Magnolia House was a wonderful place to begin our vacation in Italy. We hope to return soon.

We stayed one week at Magnolia House and felt as if we were ‘home away from home’. Lucia and Francesco welcomed us warmly with a beautiful white wine and delicious pastries for our enjoyment. Magnolia House is spotlessly clean and the decor is very pretty. The kitchen is well equipped and the whole apartment very spacious. We had a hire car and explored the towns of Sorrento, Positano, Isle of Capri, and the many small villages dotting the hillside and coastline. We also drove to Pompeii one day and explored the amazing ruins there. Sant’Agata is a pretty little town only 5 minutes walk from the apartment. We ate at the restaurants and shopped in the small supermarket just around the corner. The views from around the town down to the coast are spectacular with blue skies and turqoise water. Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay in your apartment Lucia and Francesco, we would love to return one day and definately recommend Magnolia House as a great place to stay.

We had an absolutely wonderful time here! Lucia and Franco were the most gracious of hosts. A+++! I would abolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting to have a great Italian experience. I can’t wait to stay there again. It was clean, quiet, easy to find and get to, close to Sorrento and the Amalfi coast, really perfect in every way. We stayed the last week of May and I would readily have stayed there the rest of the summer had it been possible. You will love the house, the garden and it’s owners. We certainly did!

Magnolia House’s location is ideal for touring the Amalfi Coast and Masse Lubrense area. We rented a car and found the driving to be excellent. There are car parks in all the towns so it is safe to park. The apartment is well appointed and is ideal for a couple or small family. There are a number of good restaurants within walking distance of the house… so why cook? Lucia is very helpful with any questions or concerns you may have…very warm and welcoming.
Baiden, Nova Scotia, Canada

Such a wonderful little place to come home to after a day at the ruins of Pompei, shopping in the little shops in the square in Amalfi, or just trying to find out where our baggage ended up from the flight over. The decor is very inviting, and there was even a Christmas tree in the living room. We didn’t even have one at home since we were coming here, so it was a very nice surprise to find one. The hospitality of the hosts is outstanding. As one other guest wrote, they’re there and friendly, but not intrusive. As soon as you need something, they’re happy to make things easier for you. As for the area, it’s beautiful, even in the heart of winter. I was out in a t-shirt with a light jacket at Pompei. And if you fancy yourself a good driver, the roads from Naples to S. Agata are a great pleasure, even if you don’t get over 60 km/h. Make sure at least one morning to take a walk down the hill behind the garage. The scenery is breathtaking.

The Magnolia House is a great location for visiting the area. The bus stop is close, the food is wonderful, the house is warm and welcoming. Access to the many areas is easy. Lucia will go out of her way to help you with any concerns you have about the area. There is a wonderful market down the street that you can buy fresh produce, pasties, and wine. You will enjoy your stay in this lovely place. Bob/Ann Dunn Manchester, MI USA

We just got back from a three week trip to Italy. Two wonderful weeks of that trip were spent at Magnolia house. The apartment was generous in size for two and would easily accommodate four. It has a large, wonderfully equipped kitchen opening onto a covered terrace which looks out onto a nicely landscaped yard overflowing with blooming flowers and lemon trees. The living room is large and comfortable and opens onto a terrace with partial view to the Gulf of Salerno. The location is central to Sorrento, Positano and sights and rugged landscape of the peninsula. There are shops and restaurants within easy walking distance and marked hiking trails are accessible for walks throughout the area. We walked to Sorrento – about 1200 feet in vertical drop over about two miles or so – a great walk with wonderful vistas. Our stay was overseen by owners Lucia and Francesco – a warm, generous and attentive couple who provided a welcoming of wine, pastries and fresh flowers and followed up with a prepared meal for one of our dinners. We ended up having dinner with them twice during our stay – once with us doing the cooking and another with Lucia doing the honors. We would highly recommend Magnolia House to anyone who wants to experience life on the Sorrentine peninsula in a really relaxing atmosphere.

January 3, 2009We loved our stay at the Magnolia House! The generosity of Lucia and Francesco with gifts of kindness over the Holiday Season (late December 2008) warmed our hearts. We loved Lucia’s baked goods and the holiday candies. The gnocci lunch brought by Francesco was a tasty treat on a gray day. We used the herbs and lemons provided from Lucia and Francesco’s garden to flavor our food. One of the family cats, “Chocolato”, kept us company and adopted us for the week. Our trip to the town of Sorrento with Lucia was an added “bonus”. We walked daily the four blocks to the center of the town of St. Agata for our fresh fish, groceries, fresh pasta, native fruits and vegetables and freshly baked bread. Being in a small Italian village allowed us to savor their charming way of life, including the local “ristorante” specialties. Staying at the Magnolia House and being the guests of such a warm and generous family afforded us the opportunity to “mingle” with a special Italian family for the week. No question, of all the countries in the world, best to do this in Italy! As for the house itself, it was tastefully and comfortably furnished and fully accommodating. The location was excellent in that afforded us to take day trips to Amalfi, Pompei, Ravello and Positano as well as being just a few minutes from the heart of Sorrento. We would highly recommend the Magnolia House to anyone visiting this area of Italy. In addition, visitors should consider the winter months to see this area since the weather is that of a Spring day, the costs are low and there are no herds of tourists jamming the streets and attractions. We would certainly come back!

A friend and I just returned from a wonderful week in Sat Agata at Lucia and Francesco’s lovely apartment. We had an awesome time and Lucia was extremely helpful to us on everything…we even had access to the internet which was really helpful in looking for information about restaurants and local attractions…she also arranged for 2 wonderful boat trips which were the highlight of our stay..one to Capri and the other to Positano and Amalfi…I would highly recommend these tours by a local company in Nerano..they came and picked us up at the apartment and returned us there after the tour… ..the apartment was very spacious and really nicely decorated with Lucia’s personal touch…not sterile dorm room fare that many of these apartments have…Lucia obviously took pride in creating a comfortable and homey atmosphere for her guests… …the outside terrace was a wonderful place to have breakfast in the morning and dinner at night..it faces a beautifully kept garden and was a peaceful oasis at the end of a busy day of sightseeing… ..Lucia also has another apartment next door to Magnolia House which is adorable as well.. it was really nice to be in a peacful town like Sant Agata rather than in the busy city of Sorrento…however, Sorrento was easily accessible by local bus which saved the hassle of finding parking in the city… all in all, we had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this lovely apartment to one and all…

We just returned from our stay at Magnolia House. It was charming, with beautiful gardens. Lucia and Francesco could not be more hospitable. She arranged for us to visit Capri, Amalfi and Positano and it worked out beautifully. The area is accessible to all the tourist areas and after a tiring day of sightseeing, it was wonderful to return to Magnolia House. We would return as soon as possible. Our week at Magnolia House turned out to be the best of our three-week trip to Italy.

My wife and I celebrated our 41st Anniversary at Magnolia House. What a great place to celebrate! So close to everything on the Amalfi Coast, and yet so far away. Peaceful, safe, beautiful area. Plus, a few of the best restaurants on the coast, including Don Alfonso (critically acclaimed as THE best), are within walking distance. But the highlight of our stay was warm, generous couple who hosted Magnolia House. Lucia and Francesco were wonderful, and Lucia’s Limoncello, given to us twice as a gift, is “to die for.”

A friend and I just returned from a wonderful week in Sat Agata at Lucia and Francesco’s lovely apartment. We had an awesome time and Lucia was extremely helpful to us on everything…we even had access to the internet which was really helpful in looking for information about restaurants and local attractions…she also arranged for 2 wonderful boat trips which were the highlight of our stay..one to Capri and the other to Positano and Amalfi…I would highly recommend these tours by a local company in Nerano.. they came and picked us up at the apartment and returned us there after the tour…
The apartment was very spacious and really nicely decorated with Lucia’s personal touch…not sterile dorm room fare that many of these apartments have…Lucia obviously took pride in creating a comfortable and homey atmosphere for her guests…
…the outside terrace was a wonderful place to have breakfast in the morning and dinner at night..it faces a beautifully kept garden and was a peaceful oasis at the end of a busy day of sightseeing…
..Lucia also has another apartment next door to Magnolia House which is adorable as well.. it was really nice to be in a peacful town like Sant Agata rather than in the busy city of Sorrento…however, Sorrento was easily accessible by local bus which saved the hassle of finding parking in the city…
all in all, we had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this lovely apartment to one and all…

I’ve never stayed in a more tastefully decorated and comfortable accommodation than the Magnolia House, located just up the hill from Sorrento in the charming village of Sant’Agata. Lucia and Francesco have done an exemplary job of creating the perfect vacation apartment. The location of the self-catering unit is perfect because the SITA bus stop is right across the street and the grocery market is only 300 meters away. An easy walk into the village gives you access to great restaurants and shops.

The deposit was easy to make, since Lucia has a paypal account, meaning you can transfer the deposit to them from any currency. A welcome gift of coffee and pastry was a nice surprise, too. On departure, Lucia kindly took us to the port of Sorrento, saving us two bus rides. She also was very helpful in making reservations and a car/driver hire. We would definitely stay here again and heartily recommend it to others.
Lucia and Francesco are the perfect hosts

Ci ritorneremo sicuramente!!!

October 03, 2006 – We had an absolutely wonderful time at Magnolia House. We arrived late in the evening to a lovely bottle of wine, lemon desserts fresh flowers and vegetables from the garden. It was truly a home away from home and we were glad to come back to it after our daily day trips. It was roomy and comfortable and Lucia truly pays attention to the little details that made our stay memorable. We would never stay in a hotel when we could stay in a place like Magnolia House. We would love to come back and we would highly recommend it for it’s beauty and convenient location.
Thanks so much Lucia!

July 02, 2006 – I am a retired man that has been to Italy many times but never have I experienced a more delightful month at Magnolia House. The house and garden are outstanding and you can not ask for a more loving family that will be your hosts.I have not returned to the USA a week and I am already planning a return.

May 27, 2006 – I had thought it would be good, but it was absolutely great. The villa itself is lovely, well furnished, wonderful kitchen with everything you might want or need. The dishwasher was convenient and the washing machine was very good and even more convenient.
The television is much bigger and better than the one I have in my living room.
The living room is wonderful, as are the bedroom and even the huge closet. And the patio with its flowers and lounge chairs and swing, plus the area to hang wet laundry was fine. Even the approach from the street is lovely.
But even more important–Lucia and her husband Franco were absolutely splendid. They went way beyond what one might hope to have as owners. thoughtfull, helpfull, enjoyable and caring, as well as fun to be with. Never intrusive but always available. I wish they lived next door to me here in Overland Park, Kansas. The only advice is to continue being the lovely poople you are

December 28, 2005 – “tutto fantastico.

The situation was very good to go everywhere around (Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Capri, Napoli, Pompei…. it was just fantastic. Thank you Lucy ! We will return to your place, for sure!”

August 12, 2005 – “Perfetto!” Accueil tres chaleureux Appartement impeccable.

August 13, 2005 – An unforgettable souvenir will be these old Napolitan songs we were singing with Francesco (I was only whistling) dating back from our childhood. My Italian or Napolitan roots, our roots. These so much old lyrics emerging from Francesco mouth seemed coming from another epoch.
Lucia is always ready to make small presents that you feel as wonderful ones. An example: their tomatoes, the best we can eat. And I thought we had already the best ones in France. Thus you can imagine… Capri pedestrian isle, Vesuvio, Paestum, Napoli, Napolitans on their Vespa scooters, Amalfi coast… Yes an unforgettable trip in a wonderful region with nice people.

March 26, 2005 – Magnolia House was everything I expected and more. It was clean, comfortable, with everything we needed.Signora Lucia [the owner] was wonderful and very helpful even though she spoke very little English. The welcome gifts of the lemoncello and the cake were a wonderful surprise and made me feel right at home. We really enjoyed our stay.

January 1, 2005 – My wife, my two teenage daughters, and I all greatly enjoyed our Christmas Holiday spent at Magnolia House, in Sant’Agata. The house was nice, clean, and very comfortably furnished. Lucia [the owner] was very nice. The house was decorated for the season, with even a Christmas tree for us to enjoy. A tray of Christmas pastries were even waiting for us when we arrived. On Christmas day Lucia brought us even more goodies. We were looking for a place where we could spend a very special Christmas Holiday, and Magnolia House fulfilled our needs very well. We really enjoyed the house, the owner, the village, and the people of Sant’Agata sui due Golfi. The location was perfect for our explorations of Pompeii, Paestum, Sorrento, and Positano. But we also enjoyed our quiet days walking in the hills and the village, and meeting the people of Sant’Agata. We were very pleased with your service, and with our experience at Magnolia House. I would, and have, recommended your service. Thank you

November 27, 2004 – We had an excellent time at Magnolia House. The apartment was lovely – spacious, well furnished and immaculately clean. The location was very good for Sorrento, Amalfi and Naples (provided you have a car). The nice lady owner had even left us a homemade cake and a bottle of local liqueur.

October 30, 2004 – Magnolia House was stunningly beautiful! It was like staying in a 5* Hotel just without the service.Lucia, the owner, was particularily lovely, when we arrived we had a huge bunch of white roses on the table, she had baked us a cake and we had a small bottle of the local lemon liquor as a welcome gift! Also, the kitchen was fully stocked, there was nothing we wanted for! We really can’t praise the Magnolia House and Lucia enough and although we normally like to try different locations for our holidays, we have vowed to go back very soon!

October 9, 2004 – We have just returned from our holiday in , two weeks of which were spent based at the Magnolia House in Sant’Agata. It was a marvelous place to stay and the owners of the house were friendly, warm, kind and generous. The apartment itself is spacious and impeccably clean (your description of it is no exaggeration) and after a long day of touring in the area we were delighted to come back to a real home and not a hotel. Francesco [the owner], who lives upstairs with his family, couldn’t be nicer. They were extraordinarily kind to my father, who stayed with us for a few days and who is originally from Italy himself. If any assistance was needed, there was almost always one of them around to help us out. And Francesco’s wife is a terrific cook, evidenced by the eggplant parmigiana, zucchini casserole and tiramisu that she brought down to us on three separate occasions.

July 24, 2004 – Magnolia House is simply beautiful! All our expectations were surpassed as Lucia, the very kind owner, showed us around from room to room. The spacious apartment was spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and there was a feeling that great thought and care had been put into making it a special place for people to stay in.The patio and garden were absolutely delightful. Lucia didn’t speak any English (and we had very little Italian!) but we mangaed to communicate very well. She was immensely kind and generous in many ways (including offering us gifts of home-grown produce and even home-cooked dishes). The location of the apartment was perfect, just a few minutes walk to a very good supermarket and a choice of excellent restaurants. Sant’Agata sui due Golfi was an excellent base from which to explore Sorrento, Pompei, Capri and the beautiful Amalfi Coast. Fabulous!
